SpecifiX extracts are the result of the inherent flexibility and development knowledge found at JARVIS.
Many customers like the convenience of using our
BotaniX and OrganiX extracts. They appreciate the convenience of fast lead times, the facility to search and order samples from our online data base www.botanicalsearch.com.

But some have very specific needs for their extracts that cannot be compromised: they need botanicals developed specially to a brief. This is what we call SpecifiX, extracts that are developed solely to our clients’ needs.

The development of SpecifiX extracts work in the same way as the development of cosmetic formulations by JARVIS DEVELOPMENT: clients give us a brief and we develop to that brief. Apart from requesting specific herbs, some briefs have identified exact methods that are required to make a specific extract, others have requested specific strengths; some have requested specific intensity of colour and some specific diluents.
Like the development of cosmetics, this is extremely difficult via the written word so we prefer to meet with clients before we start the development process. Then we can suggest ways in which we are able to accommodate their requests quickly and economically.

Work on
SpecifiX extracts does not only focus on the process and results, many clients also ask us to source very specific plants, sometimes grades of plants, not found elsewhere in our portfolio.

In the main, customers for
SpecifiX are those who wish to place a contract with us. Whilst this is not essential, it guarantees exclusivity and the most cost effective price.

The development time for SpecifiX extracts varies depending on the complexity of the requirements. It can even require the commissioning of crops from growers. Clients should view this as they would a cosmetic development project and recognise that all development is a methodical science. Time must be allowed for every potential problem to be identified and minimised.

The way in which SpecifiX extracts are delivered is the same as our BotaniX and OrganiX extracts. However because SpecifiX extracts are bespoke, and thus not held in stock, the lead times are longer. Clients are advised during development of the likely lead-times, particularly in the case of highly seasonal crops.

Many aspects of a SpecifiX extract can be requested; the most common of which are:

Plant
Diluents
Preservative
Package

Colour Intensity
pH
Strength (herbal equivalent)
Manufacturing process
