In many cases the special JARVIS extraction processes employed for ActiveX will provide an extract with an even greater content of active serum than will be found in the source botanical species.
Each ActiveX extract comes with full recommendations on the strength of inclusion needed to achieve the activity. In certain cases, where more than one activity can be generated, the different levels of inclusion are clearly indicated.


All ActiveX extracts are thoroughly tested and prepared to the highest standards of quality control. Our procedures are covered in greater detail on the Botanical Extracts page. Each comes with clear chromatographic support for the concentration of phytoactives within the extract.


We recognise that formulators need a quick response to their requests. In line with this we normally aim to provide samples and literature within 48hrs of request. However, with ActiveX, because of the special processes employed, there may be delays in certain cases. All ActiveX extracts are made to order.
In spite of a more complex process, we still aim to process and deliver within two weeks.

Nicholas Culpeper (1616-1654) was a radical, though by no means the quack that his contemporaries made him out to be. In fact, he had angered his fellow physicians by condemning their greed, unwillingness to adapt to new knowledge, and 'toxic' remedies along with their practice of blood-letting. The Society of Apothecaries was similarly incensed by the fact that he suggested cheap herbal remedies as opposed to their expensive concoctions. Nonetheless, his work in the field of herbal medicine has been hugely influential, and “The Complete Herbal” is used to this day as a result.

What he wrote, recognising the importance of the interaction of herbs and plants with the rest of nature, including man, still influences us today in the 21st century. Just as Culpeper considered the harmony and virtue of every herb contributing to a perfect balance in nature, so JARVIS consider the harmony and virtue of every herb in the creation of a perfect cosmetic formula. Culpeper wrote, in his Complete Herbal, ”God has stamped his image on every creature and therefore the abuse of the creature is a great sin; but how much more do the wisdom and excellency of God appear if we consider the harmony of the creation in the virtue and operation of every herb.”
